Nike Logo
Nike logo-abstract wing of success
The logo of Nike is world famous. There are very few people who possibly haven’t heard it or seen it. Sport superstars like Serena Williams, Shane Warne, Michael Jordan, Maria Sharapova and many others are under this brand name and actively promote it. Specializing in sports shoes, the name of the company has been long superceded by the checkmark logo of the company. Each and every person recognizes this particular logo.
The Nike logo actually depicts the wing of a goddess, sacred to the Greeks. The slogan that this logo stood for was “just do it”. The idea was first given shape by a person named Carolyn Davidson in the year 1971 for a mere sum of $35. The company launched this logo in the same year, by printing the company name in orange over the positive checkmark. However this logo gained so much of public appreciation, that the company name was no longer required. Nowadays, a positive checkmark automatically indicates a Nike brand.
Since Nike specializes in running shoes, the logo, which is actually a wing in the abstract sense, was perfectly appropriate in promoting the basic cause of the company. Even the slogan was chosen with perfection. The Nike logo put across such a strong point to all its customers that Nike became an instant success. In 1995, this logo was registered so that it could be used as a trademark. Isn’t it strange or sheer luck that a simple checkmark could make so much of a difference?
